The term BULK refers to huge quantity of cargo. Cargoes such as iron ore, grain, coal, alumina, Chemicals and Oil that are transported in bulk and loaded directly in the holds of the ship.
BREAK BULK refers to transactions in which cargoes are transported in as non-unitized general cargo. It is also done in unitized form, such as palletized, bagged, strapped, wrapped, drummed, and crated, as well
Break Bulk, Multi-Purpose, or General Cargo vessels transport these break bulk cargoes and come in a range of sizes and forms, including Single Decker, Tween Decker, and Box Holds.
This cargo is measured along the greatest length, width and height of the entire shipment. The cargo is also weighed. According to the volume and tonnage, the cost is arrived.
A break bulk operation receives the combined customer orders from a manufacturer and then ships them to individual customers based on the requirement. A break bulk warehouse fundamentally sorts and splits the individual orders and arranges for local delivery.
