In multimodal transport, single contract governs the ent. In intermodal transport, there are several contracts at the same time.

There are no special containers for multimodal transport. In general, the containers are application-specific than mode-specific. Eg Open-side containers are suited for transport high volume goods, cisterns for liquids and gases etc

The multimodal transport tracking number can be used for this purpose. Airway Bill / Bill of Lading can be fed in the tracking system to find the status of the MMT shipment.

The multimodal transport operator or an authorized person provides the multimodal transport. The operator will be responsible for the entire shipment across different modes.
